Swing Progress - From over plane to under to over again?

Hi guys,

I've been hitting a lot of snap hooks with the driver recently so was thinking i was getting a bit too far under plane.

I took to the range with Brian's towel plane board idea, hitting drivers off the deck and general thoughts of swinging a bit further left. Here's the results which were solid but mostly straight left of target with the irons. Still snap hooking the driver although i got a few off the deck..... I'm a bit concerned this swinging to the left idea might get me back into over the top territory where i first started.

Thoughts?

You are definately above plane around release and through impact as well as still flipping it a little. Put that towel on the other side of the ball and learn how to hit the inside back of that ball while still ROTATING to the left and not hitting the ball. Unless you have that towel setup PERFECTLY for the iron you're playing it will do more harm then good.

I like to put the towel or object on the OTHER SIDE of the ball and just like in Never Hook AGain, use it as "your wall" and simply don't bust through your wall.

You tend to stop and then the club flips on through. Read my post about the pivot in this thread

Thanks Jim, to get rid of my OTT move i used to practice with a bit of 4x2 pine on the outside and rearwards of the ball. Never really thought of having an object a bit forwards of the ball to ensure that i don't get too inside and 'bust through the wall'

Regarding the pivot i'm not intentionally doing anything i can think of to stop the rotation of my lower body - perhaps this is a flexibility issue? don't know

I have practiced with the right thumb off the grip drill which forces me to keep pivoting - is this a good one to keep trying ?
