Swing radar

Sup guys

Just ordered one of those swing radar devices !

My plan is to use it mostly with the driver and try to figure out different ways to get more clubhead speed.
My avg drive is 240 250 and im not happy with that distance.

Just curious how many of you have went down this path? Have you found any other ways to generate more clubhead speed just with technique and less effort?

Should be here in a few days! Ill keep you guys updated

Which one did you order?

Reminds me that I bought a Zelocity unit for $200 from my former club maker.
He lied, and told me it was new. Turned out it to needed a $35.00 software
upgrade to correct for 90 yards in, which I never got around to doing.
I can't remember where the bloody thing is.

I remember using it a few times. I'm not so sure that I believed the distances anyway.
The swing speed readings should help you monitor your progress toward higher speeds.

I think this is a great idea. I've got something similar and I don't think anything beats immediate objective feedback. It's not the answer to everything, but I think this thing will tell you what a teacher can't.

I have the red radar, and it really helped me teach myself what gets more speed/less speed for me. You can also use it to track ball speed (they have a shield designed to protect it when using it for ball speed).

It helped me discover that some swing speed cliches don't work for me. Smoother swings always equal slower swings, and the firmer I grip the club, the faster I can swing it. I wouldn't have discovered this without access to a way to regularly monitor my speed.

I've been told that it reads about 7% fast for clubhead speed. I've found this to be relatively accurate, so make a note of that.

I got the little one that measures ball speed and I don't even think you can do a software upgrade.

Sup guys got my swing radar today

My driver speed was Avg 110 Mph
When is swung really hard it got up to 116 a few times..

So is my driving distance about right with my first post?

hmm the chart that comes with it says a swing of 110 MPH would carry the ball only 230 yards..
Also says 120MPH would be 250 yards of carry

I'm pretty sure the PGA Tour average swing speed is ~110, and they hit it farther than 230.

I havent seen the actual numbers in some time so I could be wrong.

You can do a search and find it easily I'm sure.

By my calculations your chart says ~2.09 yards of carry per mph.

My Trackman driver fitting ended up 102 mph Driver clubhead speed and I think
235 carry. I think spin on final driver was 2600 or so. The more level the swing the
less the spin. I was just trying to get more level, nevermind hitting up.

Ric, had asked what model I had from Zelocity. The product name is
Pure Contact, now version 5.1. I need to find the thing. There
website says it measures Ball Speed and Distance (calculated).
I guess it could be used feedback wise to work on increasing ball speed.

I remember that it could be upgraded for 35 bucks, but it had to be sent to
them. I just never got around to it.

The ball doesn't care much about you swingspeed :D But sweetspot contact/ angle of attack and dynamic loft.

If hit in the sweetspot with AngleOfAttack 0 and Dynamic Loft 10.5

Possible Ball speed will be 161 mph
Possible Launch Angle 9.3
Possible Backspin 3200

Carry 262
--
AoA +2, Dynamci loft 8,5

Ball 162 mph
Launch Angle 9.5
Spin 2540

Carry 262
--
AoA +7, Dynamci loft 9,5

Ball 161 mph
Launch Angle 15.5
Spin 2900

Carry 274
--
AoA -2, Dynamci loft 10,5

Ball 161 mph
Launch Angle 7.3
Spin 3200

Carry 257
----------------
Maximum carry is around 283 yards but you need low spin (2200) and high launch (20)

Below a graphic that explains relation launch angle / spin for a given ball speed.
