Swing Struggles

A while back I started a thread on here called 'weblesson'. In it I outlined my struggles with Morad.

I thought I'd post a coupla vids and show you what it looks like.

Any thoughts? (other than its not very good!)

Thanks in advance

What's with the forward press, wrist rotation, forward press thing at address
before you start your backswing? Is that on purpose?

I'm sorry if this was discussed before, but how long were you trying that method and did you have continuous instruction or is this "on your own" by studying the method?

I don't know anything about the method, but I would work on getting back to your right more on the back swing allowing your right leg to straighten as you turn, not after. The other big thing I see is you seem to "chicken wing" into the finish and not swivel your hands correctly and finish with your left elbow pointing down.

I've had 4-5 lessons over 6 months.

I'm aware of the chicken-wing finish. It's been suggested to work on it by puuting a glove under my left arm, pivoting harder and trying to swing more left so the clubhead passes out almost at elbow height. I can do it on a practice swing (see - this was about the best )but in reality (ie with a ball there) it's tough.

TBH, I am prepared to stick with it, but it does feel 'contrived' to use a popular word round here, and I'm not thrilled with how it looks on video.

If I am going to change horses, so to speak, I need some idea of how to reboot and a clear mental picture of what I'm trying to achieve.

My priorities are good compression (if that's not a dirty word) and consistent curvature and miss. That may be asking for the earth, but it's not a bad goal imo.

I'm prepared to listen to all constructive suggestions.
Brian did suggest he'd chime in, but I know he's a very busy man.

This may be a swing to emulate(hope Kevin doesn't mind):

Otherwise, I know you're waiting for Brian.

A big part of the problem is the backswing is nowhere near what a MORAD backswing would/should look like. You're well off at p2 (which isn't easy) and then the entire backswing is very upright and the hand path is not inside enough. Perhaps you just have a hard time grasping MORAD or the instructor hasn't taught you well enough. I'd work on the takeway first to help get the hands in more.

Just because im now reminded that these still exist, ill post some high speed swings in Florida in a couple weeks to show how different it is now.

Sorry if it's not representative of your best swing, but it just seemed to me something the op may want to see to help out. Looking forward to the new improved swing.

Kev, what is wrong with that move...the only thing I would even nitpick over is the face position at the top.

I have used these two swings as a model ever since they have been posted.

My first thought is , that there is not one semblance of any Morad in your swing, so second thought is get a new
"Morad Instructor" who knows what Morad is

Like I said in the other thread....

This swing doesn't "look like" morad, or s&t or anything like it.

All of those methods will work if done "just like they they you" or somewhat close to that.

But, this is the BRIAN MANZELLA golf forum.

So....
I need to see a STRAIGHT ON face on video first before I fix you for good.

Not perfect, but here goes:

Looking forward with interest...
