taking it to the course

I know we are here to debate the finer points of swing mechanics, but ultimately (and obviously) we need to transfer the swing from the range to the course, something that I have a hard time doing. I was watching Justin Leonard on "playing Lessons w/ the Pros" the other night and he said that he will think of a few mecahnical thoughts while warming up but once he hits the first tee he concentrates on playing, not swinging. I gtend to get too caught up in trying to find the right mecahnics for the day vs. just letting it go.
Anyone have any good tips for going from the range to the course?

My two cents is to stop expecting too much from yourself on the course until you get your swing down and on automatic pilot. Then while your on the course, you can work on little things during your round. Alot of people have selective memory when they think about their range visits and swear they were hitting great while at the range when in reality they had their share of poor shots there too- 20 yards passed the flag doesn't look as bad on the range! I'm taking lessons right now and as a former 11HCP I am shooting in the 90's, but enjoying ever second of it because I can tell by the way things are proceeding, I will be a 5HCP by fall. By the way, thanks Brian!

The swiveling archer.

Sharp right hip turn... Is this something tailored specifically for Archie, or is it part of your usual pivot procedure?

Good question. Unfortunately, depending on the range (and the golfer's imagination), there is usually very limited condition it shares with the course.
