Teaching Quotes

Brian,

My mom is a teacher (has taught grade 3 and special ed. before she went deaf) and told me a quote she thought you might like:

"To teach is to learn, twice over."

I take it that it has to do with constantly having to (if you are any kind of a teacher at all) adjust for your students in order to improve your teaching.

You have to learn for your own comprehension, and theirs.

Just thought I'd post.

And maybe there are some other good quotes floating around out there.

A quick Google search revealed these:

“If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.”

"The test of a good teacher is not how many questions he can ask his pupils that they will answer readily, but how many questions he inspires them to ask him which he finds it hard to answer”

“There are three things to remember when teaching: know your stuff; know whom you are stuffing; and then stuff them elegantly”

“Teaching is the only major occupation of man for which we have not yet developed tools that make an average person capable of competence and performance. In teaching we rely on the "naturals," the ones who somehow know how to teach.”
