Technical question

Despite hcw's help I'm still unable to add photos to the posts. The insert image icon fails to appear when hitting the quote button. Can anyone enligthen me? Thanks.

Just type it in.

Just make sure you put an actual image url in there....

i.e. http://www.brianmanzella.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7125 (url for this thread) will do nothing.

If you want to SEE how to do it...

Go to the "Howell III" thread....find a post with a pic in it......and hit the "QUOTE" button.......it'll show you all the stuff that goes on in the background....all the

stuff...etc.

you can manually type "

" and replace the xxx with the url address of your image, eg:
http://www.brianmanzella.com/forum/images/editor/insertimage.gif

...oh, just thought of something...yep, if you have only the "Basic Editor" option checked for "Message Editor Interface" under "Miscellaneous Options" (the last option on the list) in the "Edit options" page of the "User CP" link at the top of the forum page, you won't get the Insert image icon...both the "Standard Editor" and the "Enhanced Interface" give it...hope this helps!

Thanks very much hcw. I thought it must have been something like that. Now I have another question! If I want to add a photo from my own PC, which obviously doesn't have a URL, how do I do that?

You need to place the photos on a web server. There are several popular free web hosting entities. One example is www.putfile.com

Thanks for the help, hcw, now just posted with a photo for the first time. For non-mac users you have to right click on the photo and choose properties for the url of the photo to appear.
