Tension in the swing

How much tension is "allowed" in the golf swing. I hear and read about the "tension-less" swing but it feels so unnatural. Do you have to be a great ball striker before you can swing tension free?

Don't youhave to have some tension to have some big muscle action?

There is some tension in ANY really good swing...it may not LOOK like it, but Freddie Couples downswing has lots of tension (pulling) and backswing (stretching).

Extensor action (The staedy effort to try to straight the right arm) puts some tension on the left arm.

So, your answer is YES!

Hello Brian

During recent time I heard quite a few terms. "Re-Stretch at the top"
"The club has to double-load" "You have to be on the shoulder plane in order to get tension in the start of your downswing"

Could you put the fragments together and explain when which part of the body stretches/accelerates and why it has to be that way and in which order?

Axel
