TGM bootcamp

I really am hoping that the TGM school in Canton is more like a boot camp where all the concepts that I've been learning on my own are "drilled" into me.

I'm picturing Ben saying "We've been over this 10 times, do you think you can it right this time ? If not you can drop and give me 10", Lynn saying (after the 5th shank in a row) OK - give me 3 laps, come back and we'll try again. Finally while failing to keep a flat left wrist Brian states " I think you need to stay late tonight to work on this.:)

I have been making great strides with the TGM concepts I've learned from the forum and the little yellow book - I've set new personal bests in scoring and hitting some of the best shots of my life on my own but my mind still takes me back to my old habits from time to time.

For example, last night in my weekly golf league match, I started with a 7 - hook into the woods-lost ball and a shanked chip next to the green. Then 3 straight pars and then an 8 after a hook into the weeds and then another hard hood into the junk and then 3 straight pars and a bogey. I think I'm trying to "hit" with the long clubs and "swing" with the short ones. What I'm dying for is to properly understand my own mechanics and tempo.

I'm not looking for the "magic" bullet but I want to ensure what i think I should be doing can be validated by "Mr TGM-wrench" I want my machine worked on by the best mechanics.

The cost - yes there is cost to get "the best". I look at it this as an investment in myself and a chance to meet some really cool poeple who I think will be like a personal support group when this training is completed. I have a 20 years or more (I'm 52) of golf ahead of me (Lord willing) and I anticipate this bootcamp will "make a real golfer out me" - I'm not looking to make the senior tour or win our club championship but I am looking forward to playing "good" golf, teaching my son, my grandson, my brother, my friends some things they can do to help them.

Can't wait till August 26th - and talk about a great, wife mine is letting me go on her birthday!
