I just got back from the National Assistants Championship. I shot 69-75-69-73 and finished 39th. Not great but I have always had a history of chipping and putting poorly in South Florida. So why the thanks?
I used to be a really good player. For the last 4 years, even though ive won some tournaments, well, frankly I have sucked. Hit it bad, putted bad, pitched like I was blind and thought poorly. Confidence was next to zero. Tried to fix it soooo many bad ways. After meeting Brian, I told him I was an impossible student. I invented the flip and had more compensations than he could deal with.
So after two years of learning under him my teaching has improved tenfold but my playing was a work in progress because he was so far away and im a tinkerer.
Well after the last three weeks, im glad to say im back and hopefully better than ever. I hit shots down there that I could never hit before and I used to shoot really low numbers. My confidence grew thru the week and I understand what im doing more than ever. I was perfectly ready to quit the game forever in 2007.
I could go on and on but I'll just say that without his help I would not be playing and he is no doubt the premier golfing mind in the business. Ive read everything and couldnt get fixed. After being in the darkest hole you can be in, its nice to be out and Brian is solely responsible. (not to mention a little work by me)
Best of luck to everyone who is feeling bad about their game and think its hopeless. Its not, just keep hangin around and getting the RIGHT information. It'll pay off.
