Thanks for the power right foot...

I read a tip here where Brian suggested someone try pushing down with their right foot as hard as they were trying to hammer down on the ball.

Well, I guess I now know what proper weight transfer feels like. I have also learned that you can be as aggressive as you like with this move and that is good for me because I am on the passive side of the spectrum.

The big bonus for me is that it slows my shoulder rotation down as my big problem is rotating too much on my left leg and hitting the left to left ^&%$$#%^ specials. I was getting left too early.

Anyway just want to say thanks... You do know the swing there is no doubt in my mind.

It seems to have disappeared past page 7 but if you search for right foot you might find it.

Someone asked whether the right foot should stay flat until impact fix. Brian responded saying it wasn't imperative and that he should try pushing down with the right foot as hard as he wants to hit the ball at impact... just as an aside. I was intrigued and tried it out with wonderful results.

The man knows the swing, there is no doubt at all about that...

It's interesting, but be careful...one of the problems I battled was coming up out of the shot. Thus, I needed to focus more on leaving my lowerbody alone (make it more stable) and feel like I was 'squating.' Just be sure that if you pushing off the right foot that you are not altering your spine angle and posture too much. Vertical head movement is usually pretty bad.

Hmm I'm gonna give that a shot tonight and see what it does.

I think Jack Nicklaus has mentioned this before..."pushing off the right foot."

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction....

Throw-out action has to 'shoot its exhaust' somewhere.

That somewhere is the right foot toward Planet earth.

I hear what you are saying.

The way I read Brian's tip was to push down with your right foot. All this helps is the tailbone move towards the target, I DON'T feel that I push-off the ground, I feel that I push INTO the ground, subtle difference, but my oh my the effect is huge. Definitely not a toe push but a whole foot push. Braces those knees and provides automatic squat and tailbone bump. I moved my ball position forward as well.

I am a right foot down believer, as I find that a lot of new golfer, they tends to push the right foot up during impact. I think we can only achieve the right foot down if know the direction of the force.

I quite like the above acticle, as Brain had depict clearly about the direction of the force.
It is impossible to keep the right heel down if we try to rotate our upper body before impact fix, again if we are trying to generate the force by thinking of throwing the golf club to the target, rather then throwing the club 90 clockwise (direction) from the target we will end up swaying our body toward the target. Think about using an axe chopping a tree, our right heel always stay on the ground at impact. Is just that we are doing it on a different plane then golf.
