HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS SO FAR...PLEASE ADD ANY YOU'D LIKE ANSWERED

(Leftjab)
Would someone kindly explain a brief theoretical comparative, using common speak, between what hogan believed to be true about the golf swing, what foley appears to believe to be true about the golf swing, and most importantly -how these beliefs may differ or align with what my fellow italian and swing guru signore manzella’s research indicates to be true.

(dbl)
I was thinking of doing a scale Left to Right, listing instructors along the continuum, but really you'd need two dimensions...and arguably more.

Manz has no one preferred method so that makes him a bit unique. And...the recent research re "going normal" can be done in more than one way...ie in more than one orthodox swing methodology. Another question might be are the people you listed offering orthodox swing methods?

1. What have been the top 3-4 swing methodologies decade by decade since the 60's, and where does the BManz current swing views fit in, if any, if anywhere.

2. For earlier epochs, describe the range of swing methodologies (ie Jones, Vardon etc). Again, where would BManz view on his current swing methodologies fit in, if anywhere.

3. How can science driven swing knowledge help a golfer or instructor come up with a fitted swing? Is the goals just repeatability, reasonable accuracy, and decent impact numbers? What about non-ideal or awkward looking motions which seem to let the golfer play their best?

4. At the highest level, do you think in 10 year's times, all top40 pros will have the same basic impact numbers, or will some still hit down and up in varying amounts?

5. If science based swing instruction was brought into the mainstream is there going to be a rush of new players and therefore there would be need for more instructors, or with a more static set of golfers would fewer instructors be needed since they could more efficiently fix the students?

6. Among the club golfers, would conceivably there become a knowledge gap between untrained golfers with homebuilt "terrible" swings and those who know the scientifically oriented swing principles? Again, how would this dynamic work out, perhaps ultimately more people seeking instruction?

(Dariusz J.)
Mine is simple - why does current golf instruction SUCK ? (I know the answer but anyway) and how do you want to improve it ? (I hope I am not wrong about the answer).

(Mad Hatter)
With everything you have learned about instruction, if a first year assistant pro came up to you and said he wants to be a full time teacher and asked your advice on where to start his journey what would you advise him/her?

(ehanczaryk)
What are the top three things (most frequent) you teach a club golfer?
What are the top three you teach a tournament golfer?

(wulsy)
Tapio says sometimes the "body" can be the root of the problems. What do you think about that?

(niblick1)
1. Why the current typical TV analyst and golf coach obsession with "maintaining spine angle" and would working on that actually benefit any group of golfers?

2. Based on what you have learned in the past 4-5 years, what golfer or type of golfer would you most like to have a "do-over" on teaching.

3. Which set of teaching approaches of your's have been least changed by what you have learned in the Anti-Summit era?

4. Is it possible now to be a good teacher of single-digit handicap or better golfers now without having launch monitor information and the ability to interpret such information and would you pay to go to a lesson where that was missing?

(Leftjab)
if you had a television show modeled after the haney project, which tour player not named tiger or rory would you like as your subject, and why?

(PMOLIVER1)
Where do you feel golf instruction will be in 5/10/20 years time and why?

Golf instruction in the futures ill be…..?

(Mad Hatter)
With everything you have learned about instruction, if a first year assistant pro came up to you and said he wants to be a full time teacher and asked your advice on where to start his journey what would you advise him/her?

(Eyeoffish)
What is the single most important thing a new junior golfer needs to learn?

(magicmarker)
How does someone become a Manzella Academy Instructor?

Whose game do you think you could help the MOST? A bomber who is wanting to become more accurate, or a dinker who is wanting to get longer. Assuming they are both young, say around 30, handicaps of 6 or less.

(Leftjab)
(1) in your opinion, what is ben hogan's most important contribution to the modern golf swing,

(2) in your opinion, is sean foley a method teacher, and if so -what aspects of his swing methodology do you find most valuable,

(3) what would you like your contribution to the golf swing to be?

(bcoak)
Why has it taken this long to dispel common theories? What is the biggest road block to these becoming mainstream?

(bmanz)
What is the hardest thing you do?

What is the easiest thing you do?

What are you most under-rated for?

What are you most over-rated for?

(ekennedy)
Which is more difficult, debunking other teaching philosophies and methods or creating and publishing your own method for others to criticize?

(wulsy)
Why did it take you so long to come to these conclusions about the CP and the torques?

(wulsy)
I think there's a lot of naivety about the influence of the body on the club. Do you agree?

(ehanczaryk)
What are the top three things (most frequent) you teach a club golfer?
What are the top three you teach a tournament golfer?

(wulsy)
If you could go back in time, is there a book that you have read that you would deliberately NOT read in order to avoid misinformation? No need to mention the book. Just a yes or no answer.

Dang BM, thats a lot of great questions . How long and when is this interview gonna be ? Looking forward to it

Brian,
As an addendum to my question "Where do you feel golf instruction will be in 5/10/20 years time and why?"
Maybe you'll have to guess at where technological advances will have taken us, so I'd really like to hear your thoughts on that also.
Thanks

Some more:

1. Who first equated "lack of moving parts" with repeatability and more reliable golf swings? When did it happen? What are/were the implications of this linkage.

2. What is your view on the impact of technology - including mass media - on the golf swing of pros and average players, and on how people think about the swing. (stuff like books by teachers and players, magazines, photography, TV, video, high speed video, the internet, all swing measurement devices).

3. How much harder or easier is pro golf now compared to previous eras? Same Q for amateur golf.

What makes the Nesbit hub path model so special?

How many tour players were used to develop the model?

Those are my two.

Eyeoffish stole my junior golf question. ;)

Are we still giving the younglings (starting at 5) a good grip, good stance, and letting em hit away?

Rate of Closure- what your thoughts on this? Has there been any measurements of this on tour players (like on 3d perhaps)? Do you think theres a lot of variation in face angle changes through the impact zone for tour level players?

What do the people that post on these Blogs do for a REAL LIFE?

In my case, I am Hibernating in a Frigid part of the USA and being retired and not being able to play Golf, have WAY too much time on my hands!

Lots of good questions there. If you do the interview well, it could become big news in the golf world. We might see you yet on TGC...

Assuming the Golfer can hit it and find it again, is it more important to focus on improving the golfer's strengths or minimizing their weaknesses?

What two things in the setup and what two things in the swing itself do you most commonly do when trying to shallow out a players AoA? For instance a player is at -5 and given his face angle and HSP/VSP ratings would work better is he was -2, what are the most common things you do when on the lesson tee?

My question

If one could increase ball distance by adding a well timed lateral shift ( before the "new idea's release" was heralded ). Why is it not possible to shift the whole package while doing a "new idea's release"?

Thanks John

i've always been fascinated by this concept. i know it's probably not as simple as "slower rate of closure = more consistency", but it's too obvious a concept to ignore, and i haven't ever really seen any proper research on it.
