The best one liners

I really enjoy the TGM-related one liners that help focus attention on certain components. How about sharing your favorite(s) with all of us. I know Brian has a million of them.

You know things like this:
Your legs should feel like two large tree trunks with roots deep into the ground.

Merry Christams everyone

Ben Doyle has the most by far of these sayings:

my favourite is: let todays garbage be better than yesterdays!

I know you've mentioned it many times Brian, but what does "shake the sugar off" suppose to get the golfer to do again?

Tom, what's "make the apple touch the orange"?

Thanks!

Actually, that's a Homer Kelly quote from 2-S.

Sorry, the pedantic side of me just had to say that :D

"Conscious thought anoys Sub-Conscious thought." Very true and I am sure this one is Ben Doyle's.

Very true.

Ever read Keygolf stuff?
Yes. I came out as an analyzer with driver as my second characteristic in his playing style survey.I got in touch with Carey Mumford after I asked him a question on Golfopinions. I had just played a round of golf with a top snooker player who is a total natural . He just got on with his game with no fuss and no thought. He was also one of the thickest people I have ever met verging on special needs.I think he might be an autistic savant. It struck me there may be a connection between lack of cognitive intelligence and the ability to play sport/golf on a natural level and maybe being thick was an advantage in sport. Carey said there was a case for my observation as dummies are less likely to have the conflict of conscious thought interupting the execution of their skills on a habit level. He also said that intelligent people could learn that skill by using clearkeys and that they were more prone to getting in their own way. Here is an interview with Carey

It's actually from Homer Kelly in 14-0:

"It [incubation] is a mysterious subconscious process that conscious thought only annoys."

;)

How about "your hands are like two australian sheep dogs, either you train them or they kill all your sheep" another Doyle-ism. Or "the sun didn't come up today, the earth moved"

another Doyle favorite "you're never between clubs" (I talked to a guy who has known him for years who never heard him say this). Hey lets get some Tomasello-isms or Gring-isms or Blake-isms out here, this stuff is great!

Ben says when you bounce back at the end of your swing :

'I dont shake and bake'
shoot, hold and rest!
The only reason I don't drop the club (at end of swing ) is because I am too lazy to pick it up.
