The more I close the face the steeper I become!

What would be the reason for this? It was recomended to me to watch NSA as I am a cronic pull hooker with a steep downswing, but the more I close the face the steeper I get. No matter if I steepen the backswing add stupid amounts of axis tilt keep the shoulders back ect my hands want to move toward the ball causing a steep downswing and fore left! Any ideas??

Thanks

Well, closing the face is a steepening move. You have to balance out the shallowing moves to keep harmony. Any chance of seeing your swing?

Why would you steepen the backswing?

Hi Kevin,

The reason for steepening the backswing was that I used to suck the club inside over rotating LAFW causing me to OTT on the way down, now Ive steepened it, I still have an OTT move! go figure. I have had about £1000 worth of lessons over the last 18 months but still cant shallow the downswing out or get the hands inside the ball. Will try and put my swing up in the morning.

I wouldnt make the backswing more up or shut the face if your goal is shallower. lots of ways to shallow the angle

Generally, not always, a OTT move is an open clubface issue even if you DON'T slice. I have fixed many laid off swingers of the club by using most of never slice again and some twistaway.

OK,

but I am starting to believe I just arnt built to play golf!
Nobody is, YorkshireLad, but if you're working with Kevin then just hang on in there and soon you'll look back on the doldrums you're in right now and laugh. Good times right around the corner, I promise

I have been busy but not enough to not look at your photo. If this is the grip you use then it appears I may have misjudged from the video you sent me.

That is a nice looking grip (to my hacker's eyes, anyway). I couldn't even start the club back with a grip that neutral...
