Thin shots

I think I'm finally getting the swing that Brian taught me in MN. I'm turning the ball over and my push fades are almost extinct. My irons are a little draw or fairly straight. I'm really trying on keeping the face square. The feeling of the right palm away on the backswing and also turning the right palm away on the downswing while down arching is the key for me. Trying to not flip it with a flat left wrist is also getting better.

My only problem is that I'm hitting my irons lower on the face. Middle of the club, just low. I'm still getting a decent ballflight and distance but they are definitely thin. I can't imagine what the ball would be doing if it was on the button.

Any ideas?

Brian had me add twistaway in my Minnesota lesson as well. I noticed thin shots as well until I kept my head back and made sure my right arm went across the chest in the downswing, which Brian had me work on as well. I can remember hitting a front edge divot with a seven iron and Brian getting excited about the plastic grass stuck to the front edge from the mat. I think that now that the face is square you should feel confident about swinging down. With an open face, it was impossible for me to swing down without shanking one off. Hence, a lot of thin shots. I never thought I needed twistaway, can't believe how wrong I was. I am taking some great divots when I hit it well. Had a great track of divots at the range yesterday.

Shallow = Thin Hits

I'm not sure how to elaborate, the more shallow the angle of attack the less down you are hitting. If the ball is in the wrong spot you will get thinner contact vice versa for slicers who tend to be too steep and take big chunks.
