This Stuff Really Works

I've not been playing much recently due to varying combinations of weather, work and a bad back. However, I found this site about six weeks ago, bought some of the downloads, read the threads and felt today I was going to have a good day with my new found knowledge.

With my head full of flying wedges, wrist torque and power accumulators I deftly hooked it under a tree from the first tee. Penalty shot - unplayable. Decided to hit a hook round another tree (D-plane) - went dead straight short and right of the green. Chip on, 4 foot downhill putt for bogey, canned the 5 foot uphill putt for a double. Nice enough par on the second. 3 putt bogey on the third.

Had a wait on the 4th tee and I realised I had too much going on in my head - such insight, move over Rotella. So I concentrated on a lagged clubhead takeaway which seems to get more up in my arm swing and aiming point to stop the flip. Upshot - 2 birdies, 2 bogeys and eleven pars. A 3 over gross 74.

Now, I have to admit this was from the daily tees (5925 yards) and with preferred lies (lift, clean and cheat), but I don't care. This is my best round for 3 years and more significantly I feel like I can do it again because I know how I did it...(ish).

There's no real point to this post it's just that I'm so pleased with myself and felt the need to shout it from a rooftop. Thank you.

Nice playing! Stick around here and you'll pick up a lot of good stuff.

Use your new found knowledge from this site during PRACTICE and then when you go to the course work on having 1 or 2 swing thoughts. Think too much and it is hard to execute.

IMO..I'd say let ballflight tell you, always working towards orthodox/neutral flight/middle of Manzella Matrix, but that is only after you get the "guts" of the swing figured out.

Cal,

Buy all of Brian's videos. It's the best info and deal in the biz. From there, like VJ says, you will figure it out once you get some guts in place.

Welcome and great to have you.

VJ, Martin thank you.

I found an earlier thread started by Brian - "So Brian what do you teach?" and the first paragraph tells me what I should be striving to do. Martin, you're right I do need to buy all the videos - particularly NSA, I didn't buy it earlier because I don't slice!! A tour striker wouldn't hurt either.

BTW your swing looks good VJ - in fact it looks brilliant given the short time you've been playing. I'll caddie for you on the Champions Tour.

Cal. You can thank Kevin also, he straightened my head out with learning the guts and its importance. Good luck buddy.
