Tiger attracted to Dane technology | Golf24Seven.net

The Danish company TrackMan golf has been a breakthrough of dimensions. World star Tiger Woods has chosen to use the Danish invention, in the hope that it might improve his game.

World star Tiger Woods has opted to make use of Danish golf technology. Tigers coach, Sean Foley has long been attracted by the Danish invention-TrackMan producing golf balls and golf sticks. Foley has ordered TrackMan products to be used in training to get Tiger back on the golf trail.

“The fact that Tiger and his coach will use the TrackMan for the training is something we’ve been on the wish list for a long time and it is incredibly satisfying to note that this is now happening”. Fredrik Tuxen, co-founder and technical director of the TrackMan to said

TrackMan is radar that can measure everything about a golf swing. Speed, distance, spin, the ball’s path through the air and club head movement are just some of the things Tiger and Foley get more knowledge about when they use TrackMan.

Tiger has previously, through Nike, used the Danish technology. Ian Poulter is also one of the stars who introduced TrackMan to him.

Meaning I assume he's been using it since at least then. It was more in response to Kevin's "finally" statement. From the OP and then Kevin's response I got the feeling this was going to turn into a "Tiger has seen the light" thread.

Yeah i thought he would have been using it also for awhile now since he apparently owns several, but who knows the when, why, or if of it.

I don't think Haney was a fan of it, and Sean is relatively new to it.

Trust me, there will be 40 Trackmans on the Tuesday of a Tour event in less than 2 years.

Right now, just a couple at the most.....

Haney had it on his show but I don't think he knew how to apply the information so it is plausible that Tiger had at least one as well but hadn't yet been exposed to it's value to improve his game. This article seems to be pointing to the fact that he has embraced it as a way to improve his game and not just as a "Launch monitor" which is what I think Haney was using it for.
Bravo for the Trackman team!

Useful Information

Tiger does not need more information, he needs his information and how to use it! Why would the best golfer of this generation (Nicklaus is still the greatest player ever) want to swing like someone else? Sounds rediculous to me. Who did Nicklaus emulate? Without Jack as a model there would be no model! My advice to Tiger is what I tell my young students; When you are at a tournament you need the attitude that says "Watch me because I am the best and you can learn more from me than I from you"! Imitation in Tiger's life is the beginning of an end.

More thought provoking, Tiger needs to have Ray Floyds career to match the best in tour history in regard to major wins and tournament wins. I wish him luck and I hope he attains his goals. It is good for golf!

Best to all in golf,

I'm a little confused by your post?
using trackman will enable tiger to find his desired shot shapes and help him to maximize his speed while checking for the consistency of his performance without learning a "specific" swing model. He will be able to find what he likes best and then verify that he is repeating it or be able to go back and work to get back to the indicators that he had when he played well or was happy with a specific shot shape.
As for Floyd are you joking or was this for real?
Ray Floyd is a HOF'er for sure but his career isn't half of tigers and tiger still has at least 12 years to go competitively on the Tour.
Tigers record of both consistency in scoring and both GIR and Proximity to the hole are untouchable as a career and while he is in a slump as many great players go through including Raymond, Tiger hasn't even tee'd it up in the first Major of the year. He still hasn't missed a cut this year and has 1 top 10 and 2 top 25's in 4 events. I don't think Floyd ever had a run of making cuts like Tiger and for sure never had winning years like tigers. Ray won 22 total tour events and 4 majors so I don't get the comparison.

I can't speak for Matt - but what I took him to mean was that whilst some people are saying that Tiger is "only" 4 majors away from matching Jack's record, we're still talking about a hall of fame career just to close the gap. Sure, I think Tiger is capable of doing it - but I actually think it diminishes his achievement if we forget that, starting right now, Tiger needs to match Floyd's entire major career to tie, and Seve's career to get in front.

I remember Faldo saying, once his work with Leadbetter began to pay off and he'd won his first Open, that he reckoned on having about 10 years playing at his best. Not a bad prediction.

Apart from anything else, I think Tiger's going to be under more pressure than ever before as he gets closer to his lifetime's goal. Look at somebody like Colin Montgomerie, or Lee Westwood, trying to win the first major that would define their career. I don't think Tiger's ever thought of his career in terms of winning the first 10 or 12 majors - the word is that he's always been fixated on Jack's record. That to me means, relatively speaking, less pressure in the early part of his career and much more as he gets closer to 18. I think it's going to be fascinating to see how Woods performs down the stretch if and when he's within touching distance of sporting immortality.

And if anyone thinks that missing fairways by a mile to the left and right, making double-bogeys on final holes of tournaments, chunking chips and missing putts that matter have no effect on Tiger Woods mentally is either delusional or neck deep in hero worship.

Think about it. Here is a guy that was told since he was old enough to walk that he would be bigger than Jesus and through trememdous hard work/dedication/obsession and a little good fortune had success at every level. He made it 35 years without the scars of failure and defeat that nearly every other person/golfer in the world has had to face on a daily basis.

He is a mortal...bad shots, bad tournaments and ultimately bad behavior does take its toll. Four majors would be an amazing accomplishment at this point and may take him the rest of his career to achieve. But because he defines himself by his accomplishments and he is the most self-absorbed person on the planet, he will probably achieve his lifelong goal. It will be interesting to watch.

Let's not forget either that Nicklaus won his last 6 majors between the ages of 35 and 46. It's not like Tiger's running out of time. Not yet anyways.

Is Tiger still in therapy? His interviews seem odd. If he is still battling his addiction, it must be tuff on his mental state in regards to golf. Is he really working hard on his golf swing?
