Tiger's practice swing

Tiger Woods has initiated this past season an exaggerated practice swinging motion back and down the target line... could this be a practice motion to get the feeling of pulling down the line .. Isn't Tiger a combination of hitter and swinger?

He's a pure Swinger now, I'm pretty sure.

He's just checking things. Not sure what.

As I remember tho he usually does take more than one very SMOOTH practice swing to rehearse SWINGING....i.e. centrifugal force.

Tiger really needs to get his right wedge back, even when swinging. His right forearm at address ensures that any time he is not 'all left wedge' through impact, he will be off in the right rough - well off.

Due to his setup he will only play well when his Rhythm is dead on (CF squares up the club). He should watch Sergio's address routine ;)

My opinion is that Tiger is definitely not a Pure Swinger. A classic swinger, maybe.
And I would say that he is rehearsing his release sequence and hinge action (non-automatically). When it becomes automatic, we're going to see even freakier golf that we saw at his heights in 2000.

And here's my theory about Hank Haney teaching Tiger. In about 91, Gregg McHatton and Haney gave a PGA teaching seminar and Haney was...let's call it "underinformed" about the mechanics of the swing including his claim to fame, the Plane. Gregg saved his bacon by adding plenty of clarification.
If any of you have ever been to a PGA teaching seminar, you know how disappointing they can be even with the big name teachers. Gregg, on the other hand, is unbelieveably impressive and informative.
Now, if Tiger ever came to me, I'd be sure to give him the best coaching I could (I'd just show him what Gregg has shown me, basically).
Tiger's new swing is pretty Hoganized and is looking better and better.
But it's late and I rant. Thanks for the forum, Brian.

In any of his swing iterations, one thing remains constant - his superior clubhead speed as a result of the fastest hips in golf, which provide his unmatched "around" shaft speed.
