(re: BM 's slightly open face@impact)

Thanks for links, From the top with driver TW always slightly duck down, to me that's tempo and clubface issue, due to open fairway he hit too hard and the hands rotate too fast. (re: BM 's slightly open face@impact!)

Is the squat really to blame for his plane line problems though?

(not to mention the Haney parallel plane stuff and his clubface)

The youtube of hogan and nelson is also a good example. Even the power golf hogan didnt really bob his head at all. Nelson's head drops on the downswing, but it doesn't come up until well after impact. If Tiger ever masters the head level move he will reach the Hogan driving accuracy marks.

Can you squat without the exaggerated movement that Tiger has...Snead was the "squat" but his head is pretty steady....

I think that is what Tiger is saying his aim is... to Snead-ify his transition ...

Self-Mastery will like this!! No mention of Hogan...only Snead!;)

Snead squat...minimal head bob

:D awesome sequence!

I agree that the Snead squat should be his model.

BTW GBD I like the Hogan that Hogan loved and not the one that most people exalt!

Snead should be everyone's base model.

You have to love Johnny's comment: This is only a 50% shot for him.

You know, it seems to me that the squatty look that Snead has looks like it's accomplished more with his left knee sliding out, while his right stays fairly stable. It's not so much an actual squatting down, like Tiger's sometimes is. At least that's what it looks like to me in the posted video.

I would think that that left knee action is a result of applying tons of pressure to the ground throught the left heel in the transition.

Just to add to this I've recently been actively trying to squat on the downswing following a lesson with my pro. Feels like the transuition is 'sitting down', driving the heels into the ground. This stops me from sliding and roundhousing and the results have been really impressive
