Clicked on the range and the zone in the golf course are different. But either way if there is another TW domination, it would be great for golf.

But tw needs to be reminded theres other parts of the game.

Reminds me of years ago (maybe 1999?) when Tiger says he called Butch Harmon from the range and said "I finally got it."

I don't think another TW domination is good for golf. I think getting him back into the top spot would be. I think what would be best for golf is if they could get say Tiger, Westwood, Phil, Kaymer, and Fowler all at the top of their game and then continue to promote exciting, young guys like Gary Woodland, Vegas, and Quiros.

For a long, long time I've been saying how the PGA Tour and the networks do a really poor job of promoting its young stars and it usually just sticks to pumping up the top 2 guys...or even worse, the veteran who is having a nice week over the young unknown guy who is having a better week.

Lately what I've seen is the PGA Tour has seen some of the error in their past ways. More promotion of guys like Fowler...pairing the top guys together which allows them to showcase the other guys even more, etc.

My fear with a TW re-domination again is that they won't learn from their mistakes and put all of their eggs into one basket and when TW isn't playing or isn't in the hunt, they viewers tune out.

Tiger and Phil will always have their fans. Get Westwood at the top of his game and then he gets the European fans more involved and typically the US fans don't like the England/Scottish/Welsh players so it makes for a nice polarizing character. Kaymer has a non-polarizing persona and Fowler would appeal to Generation Y and the some of the older crowd.

Look at the other major sports...MLB, NFL, NBA and even the NHL...*always* trying to promote new and young players every single year. For way too long (even before Tiger), the PGA Tour has marketed itself differently and I think to their detriment. Maybe they finally get it.

Richie, why do you think that the US fans don't like the players from the British Isles? Is it just a home bias, or is their manner not appealling in the US? Or is it the Ryder Cup rivalry? Just interested to know...

I think it's home bias. That's kinda how US golf got started...the Brits vs. the US with the US actually being the underdog at one point.

Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of US golf fans that really dig British players. I had a college teammate that almost exclusively was a fan of British players. However, his family did live in the UK for a couple of years.

I think out of the Brits that US fans hated because of their demeanor...probably Faldo and Monty. Faldo came off as very cold and I remember there being a story where he talked about refusing to say 'nice shot' or really even talk to his playing partners. Of course, that's quite common out there...but the typical US fan saw that as arrogant becasue they didn't know about that type of demeanor on Tour. Monty just said things that were 'low' and mean spirited.

Asking Hank Haney for his thoughts on Tiger Woods' new swing is like asking Osama Bin Laden for his thoughts on the Freedom Tower in NYC.

TW looked really good at Sherwood and around the Ryder Cup. But that right shoulder round-house along with the forced fake Hogan sustained finish lead me to believe that I may owe the 100 push ups I bet on PoY...I'd better start training tomorrow.

Speaking of Haney, I don't know if anyone caught Ray Romano at Pebble Beach, but his backswing was a normal-looking, non-laid off backswing and seemed to be working on a little twistaway and wedding ring up through the ball.

He looked like someone who might break 80 on an easy course instead of someone who might break your picture window if you had a house to the right of the first fairway. My thought was some teacher who knew what they were doing had done some after-Hank repair work.

I would like to understand better why tiger is doing that ugly high right shoulder save move as a part of the new swing. How does that relate to what he does in his backswing? He was doing that same ugly stuff with Haney.

How long would it take a teacher to teach Tiger his '97 swing with just a tweak or two (slightly less strong grip, swinging a little more left to zero out, what else?) -- three weeks?

Not really, more like asking Jennifer Aniston her opinion on whether Brad Pitt looks happy with Angelina Jolie. Seriously, it will be interesting how Tiger plays at he match play event. At match play the swing can be a little loose and a good putter can save him. It will be interesting

that's the problem..........his swing's been loose 1 1/2 years & his putter ain't savin him like it used to. Foley nor anybody else is gonna fix that.
