In my attempts to get my left wrist flat(er) at the top, I've noticed that when I do get it flat at the top, the back of my right shoulder (shoulder blade) has a ton of tension in it. Naturally, this doesn't feel good, so for years, I have compensated by letting the right elbow travel a bit behind me, which in turn puts pressure on my right forefinger, causing the left wrist to cup, the club to cross the line and clubface to open.
Also, the tension is substantial enough that when I do keep the left wrist flat with some twistaway, my right hand heel pad slides over my left thumb to alleviate the tension. Needless to say, my game is very erratic.
My question is, is there some stretch I can do to help this or some grip/backswing change that may help?
