Really interesting article, thanks Curtis. Overall, hard to disagree with the movements he discusses. I got Morrison's book after Brian suggested it following a lesson, and it is helpful, even though written seventy or so years ago.

Brian mentioned the book as well during my lesson and I just bought it 5 minutes ago. Can't wait to receive it.

PS Have you tried the "rolling of the feet/ankles" as I know he was big on this as well as the chin behind the ball?

I have been trying the rolling of the ankles, which seems to be nothing more than roll first, then lift heel. It seems to provide a smoothness to my swing, and increases the hip turn significantly. I noticed when doing it right, no pulled drives, which is my typical miss. The rolling action is seen in a lot of great swings, Nicklaus of course, but also Payne Stewart and when he was winning majors, Padraig Harrington. So easy to talk about footwork without knowing how to do it. Morrison explains it nicely.

May I join the club? I also purchased "Better Golf Without Practice" (great title by the way) following a lesson with Brian. Morrison was Jack Grout's instructor. Grout did okay with some kid from Ohio a few years back.

An interesting look that Morrison shows in his photos is his chin position. He wrote that you should keep your chin pointed at a spot just behind the ball throughout the swing into impact. He thought it so important it became one of the "Morrison Keys."

I think that "key" is a great suggestion for folks with OTT plane issues. It seems to help acheive a better plane and posture and looks pretty classic to boot.
