There have been many questions on how to download the "Soft Draw 1.0" video that Brian has just released. For those that have purchased previous videos from Brian, you will notice that this video is done differently that with other purchases.

I am currently at work but will update this thread with screenshots later. However until then, please follow these steps:

Option 1: Stream the Video

1) You will receive an email from Brian Manzella with a username, a password, and a link to stream this video from the server where it is located.
2) Click on the link and enter both the username and the password provided to you
3) Once the correct username and password is inputted, the video will begin to stream to your computer and speed will depend on your connection. This is a large file so a good/fast connection is preferable.

Option 2: Download the Video

1) You will receive an email from Brian Manzella with a username, a password, and a link to stream this video from the server where it is located.
2) To download this video you will not need the provided username, or the provided password and you will not have to left click on the link.
3) What you want to do is right click on the provided link and choose one of the following options (this will depend on what broswer you are using). For Microsoft Internet Explore users, you will see an option for "save target as;" For Mozilla Firefox users (and probably other related browsers) you will see an option for "save link as;" click on this option appropriate for the browser you are using and there should be a pop-up that prompts you where you'd like to save the video. Choose a place on your hard drive and click "save." The file will now begin to download onto your computer.

AGain i will update this later with screenshots but read carefully and follow the directions and you should be ok. If this does not work for you, please post in this thread with what didn't work and what broswer you are attempting to use.

Please only respond to this post if you have problems, if the above worked; you're welcome in advance.

I cleaned up some posts in this thread that didn't need to be here. Couple of more comments:

1) If you download soft draw 1.0 and the file is not 217.2mb it most likely didn't completely download. Please re-download again until the whole file is complete.

There is a little triangle icon at the far bottom right of the quicktime window.

After the video has fully downloaded (to you, the line of gray that stays ahead of the progress play bar is fully gray), click the triangle and select save as Quicktime movie.

Downloading to Mac

This seems to require Quicktime Pro which is not free. I can see the file well as a stream (very well done BTW). When I try to download as a .wmv which I could play on the Mac, it doesn't seem to want to download using Safari even though I have downloaded many .wmv files successfully.

you can use another browser (eg firefox) and the "save as" does not require quicktime pro...also you can make your own html file making a link with the url brian sends in the email and then use "ctrl+mouse click" to get "Download File As" option and put it in whatever folder you want...

Downloaded the .mov(quicktime) file. When I play it the sound is fine but the picture is pink and white and has a terrible flicker. I deleted my quicktime and downloaded again with no luck. Quicktime is version 7.5 and I'm using XP Home addition.
Downloaded the .wmv and it plays fine but would like the Quicktime version. Thoughts?

All I had to do to download the wav file was:
  1. Click on the the link in the email.
  2. Enter the user name and password provided in email.
  3. Then a box popped up asking if I wanted to save the file: yes or no. Select "yes".
  4. Choose a location on your hard drive to save it.
  5. It starts to download the 347MB file to your hard drive.

Just press pause and let the whole movie download.

Then you can play, or just save.

Brian thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately same results each time I try it.

I'm using the link that was e-mailed to me at the end of June when I purchased.

any suggestions what else could be wrong?

Guys still scratching my head here, what do you suggest? I paid to download so very frustrating. Could I apply what I spent toward purchase of the DVD?

look forward to your reply
