6 iron down the line. To my thinking too far inside. Result: hands to far inside at top. Result: Too steep on downswing. Any suggestions? Drills? Face on view generaly reveals an overswing with bent left arm on down swing and a bit of a flip at impact. Thanks to those who can fix this swing!

Right elbow should be slightly bent with the left arm straight. This will allow a few very necessary things to happen.

You take the club back on the elbow plane, shift to the turned shoulder plane, then you come right down the turned shoulder plane.

There's nothign wrong with that, Tom Bartlett has a similar move and brian will tell you he is the best ballstriker he knows.

appreciate the comments on tempo and agree with observation of arms being "too straight".

You are really flipping the club with your hands near impact. Do some reading on flipping, flat left wrist, throwaway, lag, etc. Ideally, the left wrist will stay flat until after impact.

CODE NAME: Soft Draw

You are a PERFECT canidate for my "Soft Draw" pattern.

Here are some suggestions....

1. FACE DOWN MORE...look staright out of your eye balls at the ball.

2. Let your elbow separate a bit more after halfway back.

3. MAKE SURE the butt of the club returns to pointing at the target after impact.

4. Then, try to hit it straight...you WON'T flip as much.
