This is sort of a video blog by swedish tour player Alexander Noren. I enjoyed it, he has got a nice swing. Don't know I find his old swing "long and sloppy" though.

do you guys feel that his "new" swing is not only shorter, but is more vertical?

with that efficient of a body turn, probably a shorter back swing will lead to less issues.
