Tracing a Straight Plane Line

Hey guys,

I've been working hard for the last few months at creating more lag and removing a little flip move I've had since I started playing golf. I now can create loads of lag and get my divot nicely in front of the ball compressing it well.

I'm now trying to work on getting more control over the direction of my shots. I've worked on my alignment and have a solid procedure where I get set up on target to the ball nicely but still fight to get the ball started online.

I tend to hit a lot of shots 10 yards right and 10 yards left of my target. The shots don't curve from that line, but simply start a bit offline and stay a bit offline.

I was wondering what sorts of drills and practice routines you all work on to get the ball started on line. Any help and tips would be greatly appreciated

Dunno about anyone else, but I tend to play 1/2 shots (arms to horizontal), then when the balls are going straight, work up to full shots..

Great Question...

Sweetspot Plane Line, and Right Shoulder Plane Line, are probably the two most important things in golf besides clubface control.

All three are VERY dependent on—and have relationships to—the others.

Best way to learn the plane line is to precisely position balls on the ground past the ball.

The Manzella Matrix "Yellow Brick Road."

To do it precisely, you need a plane board, a low bench, or a laser on the club, to locate the plane. Then you get in your golf like impact position and WALK through the swing perfectly on plane and see on the ground what the clubhead looks like to you.

Position the balls a couple of feet apart, and use about 4 to 6 balls.

Then "Follow the Yellow Brick Road." :D
