Tracing plane line?

First, if tracing the plane with a laser in the but of club, assuming that the head and then laser are on the target line is that the "the plane"? Secondly, it feels completly unnatural and wrong. and I cant hardly hit a ball from those positions. I only thought I was too steep before. My drives from "on plane" have so much backspin I am surprised that they dont end up behind me?

The lasers can show you Plane Line but not plane angle.

You need to SHALLOW out your plane ANGLE and stay behind the ball.

Also, make sure the ball is well forward in your stance.

The best pro of a plane laser is: It will help you visually find the plane
The worst con of a plane laser is: you can trace a straight plane line while doing a lot of other things wrong.

Plane lasers are not that useful.Like Jim said, you can trace a straight plane line with a laser and still do plenty wrong. In any case, the only time you need to trace a straight plane line is through impact. If you put a laser on Trevino's club it will point nowhere near the plane line until near impact. He takes the club away outside, steep halfway into the backswing, flat and laid off at the top, flat coming down and finally on-plane at impact.Explain that with a laser.

I think a revision of the third imperative is needed.

You are right - with woods and irons, I believe that being on-plane is only IMPERATIVE from release point through separation. However in putting, the shaft should be on-plane from address through finish.
