Trackman II or III

I'm in the market for a new LM to replace the KUDU I've been using when I saw Trackman is selling some refurbished II's for a pretty good price. Is the III a worthy upgrade over a II? Is the camera a necessity? I'm also looking at the Flightscope X2 as an option. If money were a little tight what would you guys recommend?

Thanks.

Thanks Brian. Do you recommend the unit with the camera for the TPS?

For what it's worth, I had thought that the video integrated with the software looked great, but when I used it on a rental last year, it didn't seem to be worth it. I have a Casio fh-20 that is not compatible and I'm not going to try and buy an F1 just to get it to work. There are some cheaper options for cameras but if I take video now I'll use the slow mo of my Casio and not integrate.

If you had a studio or a bay you might use that feature more. I'd ask Trackman what the two prices mean, what camera or video or software comes with each.

Hope it helps, good luck.

I have had the TMII and have know got the TMIII, if i did not travel so much with it i would stay with the TMII.
Just my thoughts.

Scott P. I would definitely get a refurbished TrackMan II and if you want to save $3000 get it without the video component. You will get the current TPS software, which is very nice versus the "original" 4.0 version. $15,000 no video...$18,000 with video. IMO the video portion is cool and useful but is probably not worth $3000. (At least not yet.)

Yes $3000 for a video i probably should of brought that idea to the shark tank.... missed being a millionaire again.

Yes, that TM posting made some TM owners sad as it blocked their selling price and some are already sad as they were not informed about the TMIII when it was released very shortly after they bought a TMII

Everything and and everybody make somebody unhappy.

The company has been EVERY fair with those who bought 2's right before the 3's were introduced.

Selling something you have for a price is as old as the world is, and is STRICTLY based on value.

My old $3500 Desktop Mac bought in 2005 is worth $300 tops now. Wanna buy it?

Does it have all the recent research on it? 1.68 manuscript? :)

Looking forward to seeing some of the TM3 short game mode screen shots.

I am getting my Trackman III in just a couple of weeks and I can't wait to test it out on short game and pitch shots.

I'm just northwest of Los Angeles in Southern California. Grass range.
