Brian: How do you go about training pupils to have the Traveno impact that you have in your logo like this one?

I have been working on this type of impact at fix ,doing 2x4 drills and hitting chips from this position to incubate. What else can I do? Thanks

Martee: Interesting comment. What do you make of the Logo impact position and the two pics you posted?

I find for myself, if I try to emulate these positions above, it always effects my hinge action, I tend to towards a vertical/angled hinge, instead of horizontal.

If you really want to get there, how about putting an impact bag forward of low point?

Hue, compared to the logo, it looks like you are there. the first frame still shows the shaft stressed, be this cause of the ground or you have in fact enter impact that stressed and have maintained it, which in theory you should be compressing the ball if the Impact alignments are correct.

I can't tell from the 2nd frame what type of hinging you have. The extension to the follow through can present problem with hinging if you are creating a rigid struture going into impact to support this extension into follow through. I would assume you are going for the angled hinge, the feel of 'No Roll' that has a 'Half Roll' motion?.

The idea of an impact bag sounds good. I am sure Brian has a few choice tidbits that he has found success with in the past. He always seems to have more tidbits on how to do something, correct it, etc. than most anyone I have seen post.

I worked with Gregg last year.
He is a swinger.

His key thoughts are, have the feeling that the clubhead never advances through impact and keep you left wrist uncocked forever into the finish.

Great pics of Gregg.

My next on-line video will be:

"Confessions of a Former Flipper"

How I learned to have the FLATTEST WRIST IN GOLF!

The clubhead positions in those two frames are somewhat deceptive, because it's an iron and the clubhead has been delayed by the divot. With a driver, the head would be much more forward in each of those frames.

Maybe Brian will answer this or anyone else for that matter. When I try to swing like the video I have a very hard time getting the face square or closed enough(without uncocking my wrist) to hit the ball srtaight. Am I just not closing the face enough on the downswing or is do I need more forearm roll or is there another way to do this.

Thanks for your time.

OR you can start by using 10-2-D, Alex Morisson style - a very strong left hand (palm flat to plane) with a neutral right (palm perpendicular to plane) See EdZ drills on Lynn's site.

Great pics BTW, thanks.

From there you can add a 'touch' of roll and you'll get great compression and hit it way left if you are a swinger. Then more 'out to the right' with your path, working your left hand grip back to more neutral as your feel progresses. Left hand 45 degrees into the right - right hand perpendicular to plane. A great grip position for a 'pure' swinging motion.
