i am looking for something in a warmup/training aid and considering a power swing fan. what do you think of this as a warmup aid? others i have considered would be a momentus or the other thing that ernie els promotes with a heavy attachment thing to a club.
what are your thoughts?

I know of someone who uses the swing fan extensively

Went to see a clinic with a top-ranked long driver.

For practice he used:
  • Club throwing
  • Swing fan. Was very fond of it.
  • A VERY heavy driver with a shaft made in solid iron (the kind you use for fixing concrete). He could only swing it very slowly & when he hit a ball it flew 30 yards tops. He said his physioterapist didn't want to hear about that part of his workout.

His best regular drtiver shots carried 350 yards & ended up 400+ yards away.

It's for "hitter". Very noticable feedback.

That's for both "hitter" and "swinger".

"Hacker" watch out, though!

If you must have an aid, do a search, the speedchain will do you the best.

I used the thing a while and I didn't like. After you work with it a while and go back to a club . . . the club feels so light that you can't feel it.

Sort of like if your old lady gets one of them battery operated mojo's . . . she ain't gonna like the "real" thing no more. It's sensory overload.

Seems like the whippy shaft thingie would be better because then the real club would feel heavy.

My feeling with the fan is that you MUST USE YOUR WRISTS to move it. Which is the opposite of "allowing the hands to release" - so for me it is the absolute opposite of helping me: the whippy, a fishing rod, anything that allows me to sense the club HEAD and THROW IT is so much more effective. Different universe. A pure hitter might like the fan, however.
