Transition From top of Swing

I feel good about my grip, pivot, right and left wrist position, and pivot using NSA "Twistaway" method on the backswing but am really struggling with the transition from the top and downswing. I am trying to swing under the stick, maintain the bent right wrist at impact, and putting the entire club on the box. I still come badly over the top and my divots are still before the ball. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I might just be a novice golfer but I had the same problem as you.
I kept doing all those things and still keeping hittin `em fat.

What I did to solve it to think of two things, move my hips forward as far as they can go (make sure that your left foot doesnt point out), and my left shoulder to go as far up as possible without moving my head forward. This will allow the right shoulder to go downplane and give you room to hit down on the ball first and then the ground.

If I have done it right, I well feel a significant stretch on my left side (abs) as my hips and shoulder "separate" .

I might not be right, but these swingthoughts has really helped me.

How do you start your transition?

My bet is you are swaying on the backswing. Try a wider stance and a little more knee flex and put a ball under the outside of your right foot on the BS so that your weight is forced to stay on the inside of your right foot as you go back

I struggle to get this right too but when I do its just a turn of the hips and bang - no need to make any compensations. When I sway I struggle with pulls, thins and pushes

Sway

I actually have been told that I sway. I will try the ball under right foot drill to help me from swaying. Thanks for the tip.

Right foot

Turning the right foot/toes in towards the left helps me to stop swaying and make a better hip turn on the backswing.

Get in the bunker

Draw a line in the sand and work on your aiming point.

Take a club a draw a line, say a yard wide. That is where the 'ball' would be as you address the line. Using a wedge or 9 iron, proceed to make half swings striking the sand just in front of the line.

Also the divot in the sand should be fairly straight.

Repeat 565545653 times.

Then move up to full swings and progress up to the longer irons.

LOOK, LOOK, LOOK!!!

I love it! You can fix a whole bunch of stuff with an old tire and some sand.
