Brian, congrats on the forum, been waiting patiently for it.
Would you talk about the trigger finger and how it helps control the club face? Thanks

It's best to feel the clubHEAD with the right trigger finger and control the clubFACE with your FLAT left wrist...

Just a few thoughts on the trigger finger (yes- its in there, down a little)

I had a wonderful day playing golf today. I was able to in one of those rare times to bring what I was working on at the driving range with the driver and in the old field near the river hitting wedges. A sweet 42 on the back nine that me wanting to play again soon.

Every time I make a swing change I need to re-work my grip. I have found that I no longer really need to hold the club with my right index finger (pointer) or my thumb. After gripping, I find I have made a strong contact with the shaft in the meaty flesh below my index (pointer) finger and use this to drive the shaft and therefore the club head through the ball. Classic pressure point #3 but I never felt it quite the same way until this new grip. I no longer feel I need to use those two fingers to do anything in the swing - all power comes through this contact with the bottom of the finger.

Prior to this I worked on keeping the right wrist bent into impact, keeping strong angles in my right arm and elbow as I dropped into the slot after a little bump toward the target. Classic 6B-1D (get it), but the new grip feeling really made everything sing. It was a great day keeping the ball in the fairway and having your partners say how nice the swing looked. I guess the golf gods will take this all back soon enough. Anyway thanks for listening.
