Looked at video and noticed I loose my tush line 2/3 into the back swing. Put a line staight down my but and notice I pull away from it before even reaching the top of the back swing.
I can put my palms flat on the floor from a standing position, dont think the hamstrings and calves could be the culprit. I have been doing mirror work and focusing on my chest. In the mirror work this makes a huge diffence. i focus on the way I want my chest pointing behind me, it puts me perfect at the top but I will have to see how it goes on tape in a full swing.quote:Originally posted by rcw
You need to work on your abdominal strength, as well as hamstring and calf flexibility. Losing that line is a result of some physical weakness. Hitting all the balls in the world won't help much. Trust me I have tried. You need to strengthen these areas or you will be going in circles.![]()
Thank you for the suggestion. I have lost this angle while adddressing the ball with the weight in both places. for most of my golf I addressed the ball with the weight favoring toes, still lost it, favoring heels, same, and centered, still same result.quote:Originally posted by Redgoat
Take the weight out of the heels at address.
The weight will go where it isn't ie. towards the toes when you are starting excessively in the heels. Start with the weight more towards the toes at address and move the weight into the right heel during the backswing.
This will fix losing the line going back.

In Ben Doyle's video he places the butt end of a club in his "third eye" prior to making a swing.quote:Originally posted by shootin4par

Should he move forward as he swings, as you are saying, then the club will fall to the ground.
Should he move back, as is likely if you start on your toes and then move weight onto your heels, as Redgoat advocates, then he is likely to make his eyes water![:0]

Burner,
Sometimes making changes requires exaggeration. It is more than likely that trying to go in the direction I suggested will serve to stabilize his weight. This is one of those things you learn after giving a few thousand lessons.

Actually, you might be right. I noticed the other day when i focused on maintaining spine angle while CHIPPING, I chipped MUCH better. I also noticed how much I had to try and maintain it just chipping. In trying real hard to maintian spine angle I have tension in the lower back, but with strength the tension should go away? what kind of exercises did you do for this. I imagine I would have to work on Abs, lower back and upper back.quote:Originally posted by rcw
