'Twitchy' Hips

Any ideas for synchronizing hip turn with upper body? From the top of the backswing, I have the hardest time activating my hips without an initial 'twitch' move that leaves the rest of the swing behind.

When I try to slide or bump the hips before turning, I over do this as well, lose spine angle, head dips, and hit either a big block or save it with a snap hook.

Just looking for a thought that I can practice to maintain active hips, but turn them in conjunction with the rest of my swing. Maybe dowels strapped to my legs might help?

The dowel in the beltloops would certainly help, sounds like you may be a bit flat too? Check your plane with a flashlight/lasers and make sure you are still tracing a straight plane line with the 'tip of the triangle' (right forearm 'stump', bent right wrist)

I forget the exact location in TGM... (approximate quote)

"if you do not have that underhand pitch motion, you are roundhousing"
