Uneven Tees

Saw something on TV about a guy (can't remember who but I think he was fairly well-known) designing a course with some uneven tees.

i.e. ball above feet....ball below feet.........playing from uneven lies.

What do y'all think of this?

Is it your right to be granted a perfectly even lie on every opening shot?

Can it be integrated fairly and interestingly into a course design?

I have played at some cheap courses that don't have the best tee boxes, and I just adjust my tee to make it level. Like if ball below my feet I tee it up higher, and lower if it is above me.

There are plenty of courses that I play that have uneven tee boxes. I think it is one of the most annoying things I find about a golf course.

It's part of the game, you don't get them on the fairway so why should you get them on the tee box? Maybe it's because i grew up playing muni courses so i guess i'm used to it.

Just adjust, we all don't get to play on the tour or fancy courses all the time.

The feet are still affected though and that affects the whole body causing slices and hooks. And if the tee slopes more than the size of a tee you're eventually going to have to start playing from divots.

The only time this bothers me is when the shot sets up to curve one way and the tee is angled the other. How far would they take this idea of imperfect tees? Rough? A sand trap tee?
