Video: My Putting Stroke

Ball position *looks* a little too far back. I actually like the ball position more 'middle-ish', but this looks a little too far back. Tough to tell with the camera angle and the putter head.

Also sort of appears there's a lot of focus on the stroke instead of touch/speed along with alignment. That's usually right when I start to struggle. It's funny because I play with golfer ranging in the 3-18 handicap range about 2x per week for some money. I can almost always tell when they are going to miss a putt short...usually it's when it's a big putt they focus all of their attention on the line of the putt in their pre-shot routine and neglect the speed. I'd say about 95 times out of a 100 they come up short. Same sort of thing happens when they focus on the stroke. They'll hit it solid but will be off line with poor speed.

I'd like to see a SAM Puttlab report of your putting stroke.

My comment is you have a little lower body action too. If you watch Tiger he keeps his lower body rock solid no hip movement. I like to concentrate on keeping my right knee slightly flexed throughout the putt and not changing the "flex" that helps me keep a real solid lower body.

Get a handle on your putter face and it won't matter what you do with your lower body, your head or whatever. Get a lazer device, learn where you are aiming and hit it there. Do that and practice your speed and you'll be great. The face is king and the D-plane says so.

1. Shoulders are a bit open and work too much around in through stroke
2. Head/eyes are pointed a bit past the ball -affects aiming perceptions
3. Bit too much acceleration

Don't mind the head or lower body movement....doesn't affect your stroke
Move the ball forward when you have the other stuff sorted

Problem short putts in order...
1 L-R uphill
2. L-R downhill
3. R-L downhill
4. R-L uphill
esp under pressure

Not too many speed issues for mid range putts...perhaps some for longer lags
