I wonder if anyone has done the "back and fourth drill" with him...I would have to think someone has. If something like that works for him he could just play it. (almost anything is better than hitchin it no doot aboot it)

I would try that and twistaway (prolly full NSA) with him.

Poor bastard must really love the game to keep on playing with what little skill he has. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't.

You couldn't be more wrong, he has a lot of skill, he used to score in the mid to high 70's ,low 80's. He did this without lesson's, then like most people thought he could get better.

So he took lessons, and someone messed him up, the rest as they say is history, like his former pretty decent golf swing. The skill is still in there it is just so buried by all the other crap, he may never find it again, it's too bad for a guy that loves the game so much.

I agree that he had some skill. He has certainly lost (or severely misplaced) it. I wish him the best though.

From what I've read he used to score in the high 70's and low 80's and the problems started when he played celebrity tournaments and hit some spectators. I don't think he started getting lessons until after his brain went haywire.

I've seen him on various shows a few years back saying he took lessons and the instructor told him he needed to pause at the top of his backswing.

Now he say's he doesn't remember how it started. I believe his first statement on what started his journey to golf hell. the quote below is from an interview. Find it at bad golfer.com

Q: You've put a voice to the driver yips for a lot of golfers. How did it start for you?

A: With a bad lesson. Some teacher who's glad I can't remember his name told me to stop at the top of my swing to help with balance. Now I can't stop stopping. It's a whole hesitation thing.

Q: Like Shaq at the free-throw line?

A: Just as butt-ugly. Why are we talking about golf? I told you I'm retired. [Laughs]

That's why i said he has the skill, but now after hitting so many people, he's gun shy on the course and can't seem to transfer the range swing to the, play the course swing, who knows what can fix him, there's always hope someone can help him for real.

ZZTop - the thing is it's hard to believe Charles as to what has happened at this point or anything about his golf game for that matter. On 'The Haney Project' he claimed he had never had a lesson before the show started. Which is undoubtedly a lie since there's YouTube vids of him out there getting lessons years before 'The Haney Project' started.

I agree. I think he's BSing about the instructor whose "name he can't recall." I believe hitting that/those spectator/s messed him up.
