Im back up to 215 and my swing has taken a dive for the worse Im afraid....

This is from the forum.

A Q came to my mind........

Brian:

Q:

Do body changes affect the golf swing? (aside from getting stronger and obviously simply creating more speed)

What about:

-Gaining and losing weight simply from diet. (this eliminates fintess/strength as a factor)

-David Duval?

-The EYEtallion Stallyun.

We went over this in chat briefly but yes losing/gaining weight will have effects on your golf swing because the lose/gain in weight will effect many things of the swing that you will have to adapt to including the gain or loss of strength or flexibility in most cases.

I think one's golf swing is always in a constant state of change even if you body doesn't change. It's all about making minor adjustments on the day to get your desired ball flight. Nobody ever loses or gains 20lb in a week. It happens gradually...

I'm still above average in flexibility for a guy my size, and fundamentally my swing has not changed... its just the gut, now protruding out a tad more, has me finding it in between my arms, and it throws off the feel at address...

A couple of benefits from exercise...

More energy means likely to not be indolent towards practice and can maintain concentration throughout longer practice sessions. More energy on a shot by shot basis on the course where others playing 4 days worth of golf may fatigue.

Increased muscle strength allows you to perform movements that require moving mass (clubhead at the end of a lever) with more ease and ultimately improves your ability to control the movement of the club through the stroke.
