I've messed around with swinging ENOUGH. Can i do it? Yes. Can i do it pretty well? Yes. But am i swinger? NO!

Went back to my modified Never Slice Again swing that Brian taught me a while ago (it's something in between Never Slice Again and Never Hook Again) and VOILA!

Short hitter's backswing, lots of extensor action, and lots of thrust into the ball and BOOM!

Distance is back, swing speed is up and i was killing them on the range. Why do i tinker sometimes? I swear.

My only problem now is learning how to hit the driver again. I'm trying to get a controllable 5 yard fade but it's turning into a big fade and sometimes slice. Couple more times to the range and i'll have it under control. But it was nice to be able to clear the fence at the range again, haven't done that in a LONG TIME.

Thanks again brian!

My view of Hitting and Swinging.

Swinging is great for 6 or 7 iron to driver and hitting is good for 8 to SW. That is how I envision the two. I can't see "hitting" a long iron, but I can see swinging all clubs. Just the way my brain works I guess.

Ya man.....I'm a swinger. I can see myself Hitting a driver- but I wouldn't do it unless I wanted a knockdown or something.

....But....no way, no how would I feel comfortable hitting a 3 iron off the deck....it would prolly go pretty good but would be too low.

But like I said, I'm a swinger....everyone's different. I hear Ted Fort makes out OK. :)

You're probably still either full rolling through it (horizontal hinge) or you're adding too much right wrist bend.

With hitting and angled hinging, you end up with more spin and a higher flight with all your clubs

Jim, I'm very similar to you. I am by nature a hitter, but for some reason I like to swing. Maybe because it seems to look smoother. As far as ball flight, ball position can be critical. When I hit with the ball too far back in the stance you get almost a punch type of flight. Move it up and no issues.

Also as far as that fade Jim, worked on that with Yoda and Ted Fort, make sure that left thumb is getting on the backside of the shaft(assuming you're right handed). When I start getting the thumb on top of the shaft, I start losing it right.
