I'll write much more on Augusta in a little while.

Does Bubba ever hit a straight shot? Total feel player that would get very bad if someone tried to change anything.

Ahhh... interesting statement.

So there is nothing that he can do from a technical perspective that could improve his swing? Nothing that would help him?

Wow this was a real exciting win!
I am very happy for Bubba for numerous reasons.

I wonder what shot Brian is going to do for the "Big Play" on the Front 9 app.

What a set of unbelievable hands. I agree, a nice win for golf. Get the ball in the hole in the least amount of shots. I was starting to think it's all about myelin, new ball flight laws and personal training. I'm pretty sure the clubface wasn't open on the wedge shot in the playoff.

from a technical perspective (even though Bubba figured out all this out himself intuitively), Bubba can shape shots so easily because his arms are separated/free from his body- the complete opposite of some schools of thought that teach synchronization/"togetherness" of arms and body.

I'm glad it's now more acceptable to swing:
upright
with a strong grip
steep shaft on backswing
across the line
club past parallel
"out of sync" (yeah right)
free hip turn
swinging on toes and "unclean" finish
hard
without a coach

Well, I should be rather sad that a ball whooper playing with pink driver won such a classic major. I should say he did not deserve it after hacking his drive so much out of fairway from time to time, including the 2nd hole of the playoff.
But I am not...strangely. His shot from the forest, albeit from a lucky position, was just a poetry. Besides, his win is arguably a triumph of motions totally subdued to subconscious mind and lack of conscious thoughts, at least in the majority of shots.

Cheers

Dariusz, you would have preferred that the guy who also hacked it into the woods, but got a break and had the ball ricochet into the first cut win? Both of these gentlemen would have been deserving champions. Has Mickleson gotten half that luck on the shot that bounced from the bleachers and made 4 instead of six, there might have been a 3-way playoff. I have to give Louis kudos for some gutsy par saves and being incredibly gracious in finishing second.

Yes there are things that an instructor would change but I sure hope nobody does. Perfection ain't always perfect.

No and yes. No, because his shot was going to the forest as well. Yes, because he was lucky to have the ricochet. IMO, every shot wide off the fairway should be severely punished - exactly the way what happened to Mickelson. Now imagine how great golf would be if such things happen everyday. Severe mistake of the tee -- severe punishment. Mickelson can now think how to improve his lack of control -- one of two such mistakes he made cost him 4th Masters title !
But...I am happy how it ended and I cannot explain this feeling :)

Cheers

I was just thinking how much this would help the game of golf!!!

How ? I am surprised you ask. It would help to restore the true spirit of the game as well as it would help to create much better ballstrikers in the nearest future.

Cheers

Unfortunately for Phil, he fell victim to one of the few times where the player doesn't improve a poor shot by hitting the bleachers.

Golf must be booming in Poland, its a bit on life support for attracting people to the game over here, and courses have gotten much more difficult to play IMO since about 1990.

Ah, this is what you meant...I express my opinion totally independently on impact on new possible golfers. In this case -- sure, the easier the game the better.
I must be a freak then, because what encourages me is exactly an EASY possibility to win a hole against a Tour star only thanks to my better accuracy from the tee and his huge error even if I made bogey. Besides, nothing is more encouraging than to see a Tour player struggling from time to time like all of us often do.

Cheers
