What am I doing wrong here?

Hi all!

My ball striking started off well this year, but it has gone down hill in the past few weeks. I'm hitting a lot of fades when I dont mean to and then also have some pulls and the occasional hosel rocket. When I look at my swing on video I dont understand how I'm seemingly getting stuck and end up coming at the ball from out-to-in. I'm a bit frustrated because a few weeks ago I was hitting the ball as solid as could be and now I'm playing the guessing game every shot.

I'm sorry the top of the vid is a bit cut off but, not a whole lot of room on the range to get a full shot. Couldnt get a face on view this time around. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

We can't see the clubface at the top so I can't comment on that. But it looks like you come across the line at impact and your hips are relatively square at impact.

I dont think there is enough hip turn and the downswing starts from the left shoulder. Tough not to have some poor hand path from there and stall the pivot as was mentioned by footwedge.

Thanks guys. So Kevin, not enough hip turn in the back swing?

How do I keep from stalling the pivot? Is it a matter of just being a little more agressive with it and adding more axis tilt or am I way off?

Actually kinda way off. It only stalls IMO because its running away too early in the downswing. More hip turn could help you "run up" to the ball earlier and less, helping you BRAKE the pivot so your arms can lower and swing past you.

Ahh, got ya. So, could I accomplish the same thing by delaying my hip turn on the DS? Or is adding more hip turn on the BS the easier way to go?

Good swing but I agree with the pivot stall. The pivot is losing the race to impact with the clubhead.

Check the lack of shoulder rotation through impact. From start down through impact there isn't enough shoulder acceleration and clearing of the left shoulder in order to allow the club to come down on a better path. The lack of left shoulder rotation "can" cause the club to work across the ball.
