"Neutral" Under-the-heel pad Grip.

90 degrees through the belt-line posture and 'hand height' with parallel-to-the-ground neck.

Very Slight right side bend at address, only enough to get the right hand lower and the right elbow slightly bent.

Early 'set' for beginners/slicers/and recovering hackers, much later set for good players.

Left thumb supported Flat left wrist at the top.

Around-the-SPINE backswing pivot.

Ground-up Down-cocking.

Student-by-student determination of single downswing plane or shift to the elbow plane.

As much trigger delay as needed...no problem with maximum, but no-way with fulll-sweep (early) release.

Throw-the-drunk-off pivot action.

"MASHED" impact with slightly arched wrist.

Pure swingers, Pure Hitters and Four-barrel golfers accepted.

Full-roll for drawers, angled hinge action for pure hitters and faders only.

Finish with left thumb under the club at the finish.

Note: It has been said that LOTS of people teach what I teach...

Funny thing is, outside of students of mine, I don't know of ANY...

Maybe someone can find a teacher on the net or not who teaches the above list...maybe not.[8D]

Brian : Can you go into this? I am very interested how you go about determining which category a student should fall into? Thanks.

Great post! I am glad to see that you can teach both hitting and swinging. That is the sign of a true teacher. It would be nice if you could elaborate on the differences between hitters and swingers. Thanks.

Brian,
If you were to get someone who hit the ball well and had lag, but not maximum delay, how would you get them to train to release later? I hold lag on the downswing until I get to my right leg, but then I release and hit the ball about even with my belt buckle with a flat left wrist (I will try to post some pictures soon). I usually shoot 70-78 and hit the ball pretty well. When I watch the videos on your video section, they all have the hands at the left leg before release.

As mentioned before, try to hit an imaginary ball and release (full) the club or reach the both-arms-straight position as far beyond impact as possible.

For example, if your regular point of initial release (PIR) is around 9 o'clock with the ball (impact) at 6 o'clock and full release (FR or both-arms-straight) at 5 o'clock, move PIR to 7, the imaginary ball to 4 and FR to 2 or even further and still make the real impact at 6.

Check that little swing logo right above Brian's name on top of the forum page.

This IMO has to be one of the best posts you have made providing insight to your philosophy and application of the tenants of TGM along with your years of experience.

Something to study and ask questions.

As for who else teaches this way, I don't see that as important, it is what you teach that I find interesting...

Brian:

With hands controlled pivot at one end of the spectrum, and pivot controlled hands at the other, what do you teach? I was hoping hands controlled pivot is taught in your video.

Thx

He teaches hands controlled pivot. I have asked him this before . This was raised when I went into his pitching method which is also hands controlled pivot.

Divot...thanks for the reminder...i will include the 'how to' for pivot controlled hands in "Do It Right" 1.0

I don't follow? You were asked which one you teach and you will include pivot controlled hands?

I must have missed some post here?
