isn´t it the forearms ?
wrist: beding, arching, cocking, uncocking
so impact hands with flat left wrist means that the forearms are the rotaing component, isn´t it ?

Left hand controls the clubface and the clubface is the "hinge".
Hold a club in your left hand, soled on the carpet, and rotate the clubface as if it were a door openning and closing. You will soon get the feeling for the motion involved.

The left hand controls the clubface but it is really your mind that controls the hinges. You have to KNOW how they work and understand it and then you can perform them. For some it is a fast learning curve and for others it is not.

Horizontal is the hardest to get "right" imo

The forearms are from the elbow down, Hinge action is the whole left arm and club. If you rotate just the forearms, you could be doing a swivel in place of hinge action.
