What does everyone think of this?

Might be a way to learn to pivot correctly.

What problems are you having with the pivot cdog? One thing that struck me today was while Ben keeps saying let the pivot do all the work, "Thank you pivot for getting my hands through here..." In order to keep a flat left wrist to an aiming point at or beyond the left thigh... you have to fire your right hip in order to "keep it flat" so far into the swing. If not you would have to break down and flip the wristto reach that spot. So as you approach the aiming point with a flat left wrist, the right hip must move toward the target. Brian, any thoughts? No?

If i concentrate of moving my hands onplane, my pivot is ok.
Some of you must not remember what its like when you just start golf.....since this is just the begining of my 4th yr, i remember, either that or they were born natural born golfers.
I played softball for 26 yrs prior to my attempting to learn to swing a golf club.
From that site he is teaching proper rotation of the torso....WHATS WRONG WITH LEARNING THAT????
Actually....learning to rotate on a horizonital plane is easy...its when we are bent over that causes all the problems..i agree with that..if i would have started in stages from horizonital and lowered a little bit of at a time, i think i would have learned proper rotation much much faster.
For those of you naturals and those that have been doing this for years..maybe you should remember back to when you began..and remember the problems and confusing times you had.

Maybe I'm missing the point Cdog. Its a swing not a rotation. And a swing by natural has a forward motion to it. You could rotate in place. Go to 9-0 and train the three lane highway...the three zones, Body-Arms-Hands. In a non TGM thought... in a proper address, bent at the hips, not waist, backswing up to the top and downswing to impact, replace the shoulder locations each way, head still.

Doesn't Homer Kelley say that rotation shifts weight? For me personally, it is impossible to rotate forward without the weight and hips moving that way.

Also, the average golfer has a swing that is too steep. If you work on swinging more around the body, you will shallow the swing, align the shaft with the right forarm, and get yourself on plane. The average player has to try to swing 45* in to out to even sniff the correct plane because they come over the top so much.

Now im not sure where we are going with the discussion...tell me what is WRONG with the method of learning rotation as shown by the web site. Don't tell me its wrong and not tell me why its wrong.

As Brian's said there are two forces: one downward and the other rotation. So, why is rotation not right?
