What does this divot tell you?

What does this kind of divot tell a trained eye? This is after an approach shot from 110 yards with a PW.
As you can see, I'm a leftie. The whole divot points right at the target.

I've got the same basic divot pattern. The toe side of the divot is almost always longer than the heel side.

It tells me you toed it down with a long left arm right after the strike. Open face coming into the ball?

I'm not sure if the face was open. I just hooked it some.
This long left arm, what does it mean? My divots often look like this.
I might also come too much from the inside..?

Hmm, I've never heard of a long trailing arm right after strike, before - very interesting Kevin. Please elaborate, if you don't mind.

Either you dont pivot enough or you need to save the shot from too inside or open face and you keep the rear shoulder high and expand the trail arm to square it up and since your pivot isnt sending your arms anywhere you dig a ditch.

So, I need to get my hips start working more. It's a problem since I have a bad_back_history. I probably need to work on my fitness - loosen up muscles a s o.

Brian, a video that shows how to fix this? Would it be possible.

Thanks for your help Kevin.

Any of Brian's videos show a pivot for the given pattern. COFF would probably be best if you're looking for a more powerful pivot. I'm sure it's also covered in one or more of his golf show episodes on youtube although I can't remember specifically which one. If you haven't seen them I recommend watching them all as they contain priceless information.

I think I have seen all videos of Brian. Have also bought most of the instructionals. Question is, how to check if I am getting IT and doing IT right? Is it possible to do it on your own?

If I post a video of my swing in the forum, is it too much to ask for an opinion?
And, could it help? Or do one almost always need someone to, like, touch you to get it right?

I must have misunderstood when you said this:

I was just trying to say that Brian already has at least one (COFF) video that explains how to powerfully pivot and give drills to help with same.

Now if you are unsure if that actually is your problem then yes, maybe a swing video viewed and analyzed by one of the instructors would be helpful and lessons would be even more helpful.

Thanks.
I'll shot my swing soon and post it here.

But also, I will watch the COFF again. Ehrm, I saw it last night for the second time, and yes, here are som anwers to my questions. You simply have to watch these videos a couple of times before you get it all. First time is no time - well very entertaining :) since Brian is such a good communicator.

Then look at and then try the drills - one at a time. Best thing is probably to copy the video to your iPhone or equv and then take it to the practice area.

Thanks again for all kind answers.
