Hi guys,

I am Ricky, A junior golfer 15 years old and 6 handicap from wales in great britain.

I am wondering what kind of swing manzella actually teaches. What are his fundamentals. What takeaway does he teach, and what grip does he teach and etc etc, because I am in a bad spell with my golf and I need to start working on something because I am kind of stuck!

Many thanks,
Ricky

I could be wrong but my impression is that he teaches what fits YOU best. Thats why he is world class. It's not about a pattern that is the same for all shapes and sizes. Now i'm sure he has imperatives but it's about how to get each golfer there in his own way. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.....

Buy his videos if you want to know. What he takes the most pride in though is great latitude in his instruction, finding the correct pattern for each player.

What does the "Stallion" actually teach?

Make the clubhead draw a straight plane line, ie a curved path not too inside-out or too outside-in.

To do that, you HAVE TO control the clubface.

Then after you can do that, you need LAG PRESSURE to MASH the ball instead of SCOOPing it.

All of this works better if your axis is tilted correctly through impact. Which is easier to do if you make a backswing that allows for this tilting to occur in YOUR PATTERN at the right time and with the RIGHT AMOUNT.

This tilting has to have the CORRECT relationship to the OPENING of your hips and SHOULDERS through impact, also for YOUR PATTERN.

You could use ANY kind of grip to do this, but you'll think it is all easier to do if you use the grip that HOGAN, NELSON, SNEAD, PALMER, PLAYER, NICKLAUS, CASPER, WEISKOFF, MILLER, WATSON, NORMAN, FALDO AND WOODS all used—a neutral one.

Hope this helps.

I can promise you, if you stick around and listen and learn, you'll fix your swing and look and PLAY more like a GOLFER everyday.

Welcome.

Where abouts in Wales do you live Ricky? I live in Wrexham, N.Wales.

Welcome to the forum and by the way you've just discovered one of if not the best golf teacher there is (thats my opinion), happy learning

Hi guys,

Thanks for all of your replys its great. Yes I did have ago at the one plane swing and well I cant stick to any flamin swing at the moment so I dont know where im heading lol. My golf game isnt good lately, it really isnt. I played in the European Boys championship qualifier last monday and I did real well, I came 5th place and I was 3 spots off qualifying for the finals. But thats the only good competition iv had all year.

PaulK2 I come from Mid-Wales ( Powys ) in a small town called Builth Wells? It holds the Royal Welsh Show ???

Oh yeah, and my bad shots at the moment is either a block right ( mainly with short irons ) or a big draw / hook. Plus my divots seem to be going to the right.

Its mainly because my swing has become very rounded. Very One Plane which yes feels very natural but my downswing is way to far from the inside, I just want a babt cut shot which I can control! :-(!

My understanding of your recent audio, is that axis tilt helps the player hit the inside of the ball and that some need less tilt because they need less help! What is it that the players who need less help do or have?

Oh Ricky, what a pity, you don't understand... :)

anyways... Do yourself a huge favor and order "confessions of a former flipper" to start with. I noticed in a few of your videos that you have some throwaway which is probably causing your hooks. By the way, I'm Skully on CQ's site ;)

Ok, skully, I wont be useing chucks site anymore.

I tried the RFT on the course today and it was awesome, havent hit the ball as good as i did today for weeks.
