What makes the shaft flatten?

I was wondering what movement(s) make the shaft flatten in the downswing.

Starting the downswing by shifting the weight target-wards before the backswing has finished?

The right triceps moving back towards the ribcage as the right elbow moves diagonally downwards towards the belly-button and in front of the right wrist which adds angle to the wrist and flattens the shaft?

Any ideas?

My best in a quickie...

This is something that does not happen in the swing!

What HAPPENS is that the movement by the PIVOT to START the downswing, is what CAUSES the club to make the REST of the BACKSWING!

Loading.

(Does the) The right triceps moving back towards the ribcage as the right elbow moves diagonally downwards towards the belly-button and in front of the right wrist which adds angle to the wrist and flattens the shaft?

Not really.

This movement (that you describe) could flatten the shaft, but there are dozens of other ways to do it and millions of thoughts--conscious and subconscious-- that might make a golfer "downshift."

:)

Nice to see you again, Hogan.
