To me, it looks like he is leaning toward the target..then head movement during downswing (chin tucks). I think the head move is what makes it look quirky right?

Narrow width. And slightly un-centered motion?
Posterboy for PullbackrunupJump in todays modern society?

I think Westwood is a choker. IMO, if he has any chance of winning the Tournament he needs to go really low tomorrow and build a sizeable lead. He gets too anxious and quick coming down the stretch in Majors..either with the driver or putter. Maybe the second best thing for Westwood would be for the much more confident Poulter to do well tomorrow and play well despite what Tiger does. That way Westwood can see a buddy of his "Just do it"!, possibly building his own confidence.... Should be interesting.

What a natural looking pivot! He doesn't look super flexible but he has a very powerful look to his swing. It looks very orthodox. I like how he strikes it with authority.

The dip and then he keeps his head down longer than a 20 handicapper, but other than that there is lots of good in that swing.

the reason his swing looks a little odd is mainly because he keeps his head down longer then is healthy (victim i believe of the obsessiveness of british instructors for generations) and his shoulder turn through the ball is so steep. his shoulder line doesnt point at the ball or the target line through impact, i points straight down, more towards his toes.

and the fact he flips it. probly why hes such a good driver of the ball

Watching over the weekend it appears that Westwood aligns right of the target then
hits a pull fade. Anyone else notice this?

I agree that he hits a pull-fade. Faldo even made a comment about how far right he was aligned on a par three - and the ball ended up left of the flag.

On TGC this week, the talking heads were talking about how pure his action was....yet a few years ago, Leadpoison was talking about how timing dependent it was and how he has to hit tons of balls to stay sharp.

Amazing how little some people know....yet they get paid to know what is going on.
