What would you advise, Brian?

Here is my favorite howler from the batch of suggestions:

Then at the beginning of the downswing he does something very strange: He continues cocking his wrists.

Yup. These guys would help poor ol Phil....[}:)]

IMHO Out of the group Tom Patri has the best advice for Phil
Phil has tried to shorten his swing, but said this year it isn't for him so he is trying to find his old swing again.

Those guys are HORRIBLE...

I wonder what they would have done to the Slammer, Nicklaus, Palmer, Player, Miller, Floyd, etc.....

Brad Redding...who?? This guy has the absolute WORST advice...

First of all, Phil needs to rid himself of his 'three-star' instructor (at best).

I don't know where Rick Smith dreamed up the idea of this 'on top of the ball' junk.

Biomechanically, his body gets into an excellent position on hiss backstroke. Great level turn of the hips.

He needs spine (axis) tilt. Without it, the swing looks akward...

...his legs go from looking stable to 'loose'...he should FIRE his right side (knee to 10 o'clock) while rotating his left hip BACK...this will PULL the left knee into extension.

At Phil's level, why is it NO ONE can get him to swing on plane with a correct clubface?
In fact, if thats what golf is all about (on plane with a correct clubface),
what makes this task so hard to accomplish? Why can't we find the right alignments to allow us to do that consistantly?
Could our mental approach be causing us not to get to this goal?
I saw someone brak down Moe's swing yesterday, basically he was on plane, club face was correct about everytime. How many of us are more athletic or have at least as much coordination as Moe?
How can we look at our bone and joint structure, fine the best alignments, then use that info to have a repeatable swing? All the great instructors out there, and think about it, they must have some knowledge and be able to put it to use or the best golfers in the world wouldnt be consulting them. Why is it they cant get us (for the most part) to do 2 simple things, swing on plane with a correct clubface?

cdog...

What is OBVIOUS to you, because you are a golf swing knowledge seeker and what is obvious to a Rick Smith is NOT the same thing.

Rick thinks AXIS TILT IS BAD!!!
