What would you do to help this swing?

This is a golfer on the high school team here that I help coach. Since I am rather new to TGM methods (only recently have I realized that the "pop" instruction I have been taught all my life is not the way to go), I do not want to send him in the wrong direction. If anyone has any advice, please let me know. Thanks.

Face On

He has been struggling with pull draws and thin shots.

How about I give my ideas, and if they seem like a bad idea, someone can correct me?

OK. I think he needs to:

1. Keep working on his backswing pivot (which has gotten a lot better) so that his left shoulder lines up with his right hip.

2. Have the swing thought of putting his right shoulder into his right front pocket (on the downswing).

3. If he is still going left after 1 and 2, work on "hips, hands, clubhead" to keep the face from closing too fast.

P.S. I know the video quality is bad, but it went to crap when I uploaded it.

  Whats that noise after the face on shot!!

Anyway, I like your idea of hip, hands, clubhead, keeping the left arm across the chest longer. Add a little axis tilt (belt ahead of bowtie) also in the downswing.

LOL, yeah, I am not sure what that was. All I know is that nothing broke:eek:

Thanks for the input.

Well, if anyone is interested, I started him on NHA and had great results. I think it helps him keep the club "in front" of him more and works better with the pivot (more centered) he is comfortable with. Plus he prefers a fade so it works out well.
