Why does this work and does it make sense?

Brian and anyone else,

years ago i received a "tip". the tip was that halfway down on the downswing, i should try to imagine a wine glass on the face of the club and to try not to spill a drop of wine out of the glass. whenever my swing goes sour, i find myself going back to this image with great success. what, if anything does this tell you about my swing and is this a good image to use.

thanks,jimmy

draw or fade

thanks for the reply, brian. i usually hit a draw, but the wine glass thought help hit a straighter shot. i like the feel through the ball but i would like a little more power with the same feel ( it feels as if the ball is staying on the clubface for a " long" time.
thanks again,
jimmy

A great one, which makes you as smoothly and carefully as you can in order to "try not to spill a drop of wine out of the glass", during which the acceleration of the clubhead is perfectly steady (or the "lag" is prefectly sustained, regardless of the amount), which translates to precise power.

Change nothing, except doing it a bit faster and more carefully. Find the right shaft for your swing is critical as well.
